The Ancient ‘Book of Changes’ and What it Says About 2021

The I-Ching (literally meaning Tao, or truth), also known as the Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese Divination text. It's one of the oldest of the Chinese classics. Contained within it exists a simple yet complex structure known as the 64 gua (hexagrams), each of which contain valuable ancient wisdom. What does it have to say about the year to come: 2021?

The Book of Changes

It all started when an ancient sage Fu Xi drew eight trigrams. Using those 8 trigrams, 64 hexagrams were composed by King Wen of the Shang Dynasty which then became the I-Ching, laying the foundation for much of Chinese wisdom throughout the ages.

The book is divided into two parts, the upper canon and the lower canon. The upper canon is composed of the first 30 hexagrams, while the lower canon is made up of the last 34 hexagrams.
