I became an Uber Eats driver
For the past few months I’ve been driving for Uber Eats to earn some extra cash on the side. It’s easy to get started; only requiring some basic submissions like your car insurance and a picture of yourself.
I’m currently in a fortunate enough spot where I don’t absolutely need a well paying job, but having some extra cash can be very helpful and easy to pick up. It was easy enough that my first few orders went smoothly and I ended up making around 18 dollars per hour while doing so. The best part is that I get to listen to whatever music I want to and drive around finding new places near my home that I’ve never been to before.
I’ve realized that there’s some quirks to the algorithm supplying trips to you. It seems to be that movement favors the algorithm. So moving between areas is more beneficial than staying parked in one spot. The app also provides an indicator for “hotspots” where there are more orders being made in a certain location. In my experience, these don’t benefit you. It’s best to find a location with lots of food businesses and drive around the local area to get the best outcome.
